Traveling |

Canal Tour |
|
After traveling to Russia you will experience varied modes of transportation (not just a series of plane trips). We took the bus to and from the airport or whenever visiting an excursion
outside the city. While exploring St. Petersburg's many networks of canals, we enjoyed a canal tour (pictured left). Photographs and information are available from of our
canal tour
or about how we traveled. |

Sightseeing |

Russian Museum |
|
For our month in St. Petersburg, we visited a plethora of museums, historic cities, ballets, symphonies, open-markets and did have some time to relax with friends. There are More
pictures and details about our excursions at places like the Russian Museum (left), Peter and Paul's Fortress, Gatchina and Summer Garden. Additionally there are quotes from the students
that went to learn more what people actually thought of the trip. |

Russian Friends |

Luba & Ira |
|
Whenever traveling abroad it's always nice to have friends to help you out. Perhaps you don't speak Russian or don't know your way around to find all the trendy clubs? Maybe you'd
wish to take part in Russian traditions such as dacha or banya? Often these are activities that are not part of the "group" tour and can be challenging to find by yourself.
Remember that many of the Russian students at UNI are from St. Petersburg taking part in the exchange program between Herzen University and University of Northern Iowa. So by being a
good host here in Iowa, you will likely be reciprocated the same kindness in Russia. More pictures and details are available. |

Master Classes |

Duncan |
|
Everyone will have master classes that specialize with something from their field. See
courses for those options. Many of the people that went were music majors so each would spend time playing their instrument or with an instructor for lessons. More photos and information are available, plus quotes from students on the trip. What good would all this hard work be without a recital? Well, fortunately, everyone will give a final presentation too. |

Final Presentation |

Mia |
|
During the last weekend in St. Petersburg everyone will be showcasing something they did during master classes. Musicians play within a concert
hall at Hertzen University. Artists display works created in St. Petersburg. Others present material related to their field. More information is available,
plus the Final Presentation in July 2006 for each student. |
