The Interpreters Theatre program at the University of Northern Iowa is student centered. While faculty and guests create scripts and direct productions, students have many opportunities to do these things and more. Students are able to learn all aspects of theatrical production first-hand, including:
Arts Administration and Management
House Management
Creating scripts
Directing
Acting
Designing scenery, lighting, audio, multi-media, make-up, costume and properties
Building Sets, costumes and props
Engineering audio and multi-media
Setting and focusing lights
Professionally trained faculty provide leadership and guidance to our student technician/artists, teaching them performance and production theory, but our goal is for students to learn by doing.
Each semester auditions are announced and held for student performers, and calls are placed for student scripters, directors, and technicians.
For further information please contact Dr. Mitchell or Dr. Siddens.
